GHOSTS: AN ITINERARY THROUGH BUCHAREST (2023)

Un haiku despre fantomele uitate ale orașului.

[ENG] Ghosts are all around us. One needs only the right pair of ‘eyes’ to see them. This video explores some of the darker aspects of Bucharest’s past, by revisiting and documenting the locations of some gruesome murders that took place here. This itinerary through the town invites the travellers to ponder these obscure histories and hopefully acts as a catalyst in a process of reconciliation with these past events.

The original score of the piece is created by Terolaviu Popescu and is based on a distorted passage from an 80s duet by Mihaela Runceanu and Ioan Luchian Mihalea, both artists who were themselves gruesomely murdered in Bucharest.
